For the second time since his controversial American Music Awards performance, ABC has cancelled an appearance by Adam Lambert, this time on the network’s late night program Jimmy Kimmel Live and the annual New Year’s Eve countdown, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
“Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE.
don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat … I AM doing Leno though. And lookin into something for NYE … It’ll all blow over. Let’s focus on being positive!
,” glam rocker Lambert, who finished as runner-up on American Idol in May, wrote on his Twitter account late Wednesday.
Lambert had been booked to perform on Kimmel’s outdoor stage Dec. 17 before his controversial performance at the Nov. 22 show.
Following his AMA performance in which he kissed his male keyboardist and exhibited suggestive choreography, ABC cut him from the Good Morning America lineup. He instead was invited to appear as a guest on CBS’ The Early Show.
Adam’s debut solo album, For Your Entertainment, is in stores now.
