TheCelebrityDB.Com exists for its members ... as a place they can find images of their favorite celebrities (if you can't find what you are looking for post a request in the Request forums or feel free to PM me personally!).

We receive no sponsorship or external funding (well a couple ads here and there but really they don't add up to much - the full page ads were the best but i know they can be rather annoying oh and since Web took off and stopped paying the bills unexpectedly ). Many costs (which are not covered by donations or premium memberships) are currently paid for out of pocket, by me, who has little money myself lol ... so any donations go directly towards the running of the site.

It is pretty expensive keeping a large site such as this running, especially when you consider that the thousands of images are hosted by us as well. Our monthly costs currently run to about $240/month - just for the server though we also have to pay for the scripts and every now and then a few dollars on advertising.

We would really encourage all members to consider donating to TheCelebrityDB.Com on a regular basis. The reality is that without donations, this site cannot continue to run. We have set things up here to run on as small a budget as possible ... but that still leaves us with a pretty hefty monthly running cost. We want to be able to ensure not only that TheCelebrityDB.Com can continue running now .... but also well into the future!

Of course we do not want to pressure anyone struggling financially to donate to us, but there are many here who can afford a small monthly donation.

At this point in time, the only way we can ensure that this site remains available is to have regular monthly supporters, each willing to give a small amount towards the running costs of the site. If we cannot raise enough monthly support, we will need to make the private areas of TheCelebrityDB.Com into a subscriber only area, with a small monthly charge (unfortunately we are currently at that point and are doing so, though if the situation were to ever change - or i was to win the lottery lol then we would of course revert back to a free board). We of course would by far prefer to have kept TheCelebrityDB.Com free .... but we need our members to realize that because the service is free for them to use, does not mean that it is free to run!!

For those who wish to donate regularly, we would suggest an amount between $5-25 a month as a rough guideline. This is a small payment individually, but if every active member donated this amount (the price of a couple of decent cups of coffee, or a few chocolate bars, a month), we would have enough money to cover all our costs!

You may also select your own currency. Set 'Recurring Donation' to yes if you wish to be billed monthly. Our Donation system accepts Paypal and again accepts AlertPay (be aware that at this time alertpay only processes Visa and American Express)

In the (what appears to be an un-)likely event we manage to get some donations this week to pay the server a new image uploader will be launched. It will allow users to assign their uploads to a gallery and then when you browse the image you can also look at the gallery and advance foward and back through the images.
